Here’s a look at the new Lebron James and Dwight Howard McDonald’s commercial verses the original Michael Jordan and Larry Bird McDonald’s commercial. I personally like the idea of the new one, but I don’t like how it is all fake dunks, or simulated dunks I should say. They probably have strings and use other camera magic to pull of all these humanly impossible dunks. Otherwise I like watching them both. Which is your favorite?
I thought the commercials this year were ok, not as good as Ive seen in past years, but still interesting. I thought the Doritos commercials were ok, I enjoyed a few of them and others I feel like I’ve seen before. However this one above I found myself laughing the hardest at while I was watching. There were a few that could have taken the top spot for my favorite pick but I choose this one because it was very unexpected and funny. Check out the post below for all of the superbowl ads from this year and last year.
Some of the best football players in the world including Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin and Chelsea forward Didier Drogba have teamed up with Kobe Bryant and Maria Sharapova and others to fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa. All you have to do is wear the Nike red laces on your shoes. You can find them at NikeSoccer.com/RED. When you purchase the laces Nike is contributing 100% of its profits from the sale to the Global Fund and to soccer-based programs that help fight AIDS in Africa. Since its inception, (RED)™ partners and events have generated over $135 million to the Global Fund and that number continues to grow. Buy a pair of laces today.
In the newest Kobe and Lebron puppet commercial Kobe’s shoes literally bring down the house. The new Nike Zoom Kobe 5’s are in stores now. It pains me to post this commercial about Kobe seeing as I’m from Boston, but nevertheless it’s another great commercial by Nike.

For the last two week I was in Mexico for a service learning trip through my school. It truly is an amazing place and I had a great time. While I was there I was always on the lookout for advertisements and other forms of media, however one thing that I kept seeing over and over while I was down there was advertisements for Sol Beer. Sol is the first Mexican sunshine beer and was developed and brewed near Mexico City. I traveled through central Mexico by bus and cab and the one thing I saw over and over was all types of print ads for Sol beer, it truly is everywhere. Street signs, walls, spray painted and posters, billboards, stickers and banners. Every form of print ad is used in Mexico and Sol is known and sold all over( it’s even sold in 7/11 and grocery stores). That was really the only advertising/media that I wanted to post about.
Jimmy Winkelmann, creator of The South Butt clothing brand could be getting into a legal battle with North Face due to the fact that both logo’s have similar characteristics. The South Butt was started for people that didn’t want to wear North Face because it is a brand name and the price. It’s made around the idea of staying comfortable, relaxed, and always being yourself. Since North Face has taken action The South Butt now has a disclaimer on it’s website saying that it does not want to confuse you with the North Face brand, and goes on to say that if you are unable to discern the difference between a face and a butt, they encourage you to buy North Face products. You can check out The South Butt website here. Hopefully a legal battle will not be the outcome and I wish The South Butt much success in the future.
Kobe and LeBron are back for another season of Nike puppet commercials. Their first commercial back features the mysteryof the missing LeBron Air Max VII which is the new basketball shoe by LeBron to come out. It is a to be continued commercial so you know your in for a new season.
Update – The #1 reindeer in the world, Blizten ( played by Lupe Fiasco) spits quite a good verse for a puppet in this newest Kobe/LeBron puppet commercial. We’ll see if Blizten can back up his smack talk vs. Team Santa, LeBron, and Kobe in the next installment.
If you don’t watch much of the Discovery Channel than you probably haven’t seen this commercial about the wold being awesome. It features all of the different cast members on a bunch of popular Discovery Channel shows such as Dirty Jobs Mike Rowe, and Myth Busters Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman. I was told that the song they are humming to throughout the commercial originated in the Girl Scouts, but I don’t know for sure. Great commercial by 72andsunny ad agency, and creative director Glenn Cole.
