The World is Just Awesome – Discovery Commercial

Posted: November 23rd, 2009 | Author: Zach | Filed under: Ads, Online/Interactive, TV, Video | Tags: , | View Comments

If you don’t watch much of the Discovery Channel than you probably haven’t seen this commercial about the wold being awesome. It features all of the different cast members on a bunch of popular Discovery Channel shows such as Dirty Jobs Mike Rowe, and Myth Busters Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman. I was told that the song they are humming to throughout the commercial originated in the Girl Scouts, but I don’t know for sure. Great commercial by 72andsunny ad agency, and creative director Glenn Cole.

Volkswagon Makes Walking Up Stairs Really, Really Fun

Posted: October 12th, 2009 | Author: Shaun | Filed under: Ads, Online/Interactive, Viral | View Comments

Videos like this one right here is why I love advertising.  If someone said to me, ” Let’s make a giant piano out of a staircase in a train station for people to play with their feet,” I would never imagine it to be possible.  In the world of advertising, however, anything really is possible.  You can always take things to the next level. The concepts of stairvertising and experiential advertising came together to create a great viral video.

Here’s more on the idea from the campaign website, TheFunTheory.com -

Take the stairs instead of the escalator or elevator and feel better” is something we often hear or read in the Sunday papers. Few people actually follow that advice. Can we get more people to take the stairs over the escalator by making it fun to do?

The Puma Index – Great Use of a Digital Application

Posted: September 20th, 2009 | Author: Shaun | Filed under: Online/Interactive, Promotions | Tags: , , , | View Comments

We all know how tough it is out there for us consumers. So why not lighten up the mood during the recession with some hot models who slim down as the stock market itself goes down? This “Puma Index” application does just that. It’s a real stock market ticker, and as the points come off the stock market index, so do the clothes. Better yet, there’s a model for three of the major markets, and better still is that the models stay active even when the market is inactive. This is brilliant. There’s also some eye candy for the girls, too.  If you bring the app to a store I believe you get a 20% discount or a coupon. You can download the app at Puma.com or the iTunes store.

New Crystal Head Vodka

Posted: August 15th, 2009 | Author: Zach | Filed under: Ads, New Products, Online/Interactive, Video | Tags: , , | View Comments

Dan Aykroyd launched a new vodka recently and I was fortunate to try it out. The vodka as well as the bottle that it comes in was amazing. It had a creamy hint to it, but I think its right up there along side my good friend grey goose. The video above is all about the new Crystal Head Vodka and how and where it is made. For even more information about it you can check out the website here.

The story behind the skull is interesting and real, if you saw the newest Indiana Jones movie the crystal head was referenced in it. If you get a chance to try it I highly recommend it to anyone that is of legal age to drink. Please Drink Responsibly.

Johnnie Walker Reminds You Where He Came From. (video)

Posted: August 9th, 2009 | Author: Shaun | Filed under: Ads, Online/Interactive, Video | View Comments

Here’s a true story, about Johnnie Walker, a self-made “Man Who Walked Around The World” to make his Johnnie Walker whiskey what it is today. This video just shows how true the advertising is to the brand essesnce of Johnnie Walker. It’s set in Scotland, narrated by a Scottish actor (who talks and walks for over 5 minutes continuoulsy without a noticable take which is crazy!), you get to see the beautiful Scottish landscape, and all along the way you get to learn interesting facts about the brand that you never knew before.  Very refreshing idea. This 6 minute video is definitley worth watching.

Absolut Anthem

Posted: August 3rd, 2009 | Author: Zach | Filed under: Ads, Online/Interactive, TV, Video | Tags: , | View Comments

This commercial is amazingly artistic and creative. Rupert Sanders directed this brilliant ad for Absolut Vodka. He said he had ideas that he was able to mature because of the job at hand, while using the spirit of artistic endeavor with each word created.

Rupert explains how he created and filmed each word(s). My favorite was “Things” which you can check out below.

“Doing Things Differently Leads To Something Execptional, In an Absolut World”.
