Oglivy is on the hunt for the world’s greatest salesperson. If you think you have it what takes, all you have to do is sell…. a brick. And if that isn’t hard enough, you only have 2 minutes to make your pitch.
The winner (I’m assuming) will likely play a role in helping Oglivy win some new biz in the future. Aside from that, and bragging rights for life, you can win a trip to Cannes and a 3 month paid fellowship at the agency. Not too shabby.
Gatorade recently came out with 6 limited edition Gatorade bottles all with the one and only Michael Jordan on them. Each color represents and pays tribute to Michael, Red, Blue, and Gold all symbolize points in Jordan’s career. The Red is FOREVER, which represents his championships, the Blue, THEN is for his hard work and school accomplishments, and Gold, NOW, stands for what Michael is doing these days with his ownership of the Bobcats and recently opening his Motor-sports company.
“Jordan Then, Now and Forever”
You can check out the Jordan Series here. I have 4 of the bottles already saved, I’m looking out for the last two, ya never know, they could be worth some money one of these days.
“Did You Catch That Sale?” is the beginning of a series of posts that will talk about some of the best marketing and sales we find around various retail spots. The first installment features Polo Ralph Lauren’s Rugby store on Newbury Street in Boston.
This past weekend, my friend and I braved the cold Northeastern weather to do some shopping on Newbury Street. Along the way, some great marketing lured us into the Rugby. Outside the store, a simple sign written in chalk mentioned that all on sale items are an additional 44% percent off in honor of the 44th Presidential Inauguration. Wow! Great deal right there, and a great example of simple, yet successful marketing from a retail standpoint. Inside, it was almost as if everyone on Newbury had made there way into Rugby, because it was packed. I ended up getting 2 polo’s for $28 each. Regularly priced, the polo’s would cost well over $50 each. Hopefully you cashed in on the the good buy, if not, we’ll continue to post these special sales whenever we find them. Thanks again to Rugby for the great deal and marketing.
