Life: Beneath The Surface (video)
Posted: July 7th, 2009 | Author: Shaun | Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: design project, short film, surface, urban symphony | View CommentsThis is incredible. I’ve re-watched it at least 5 times already. I love how the beat builds up at the end-culminanting in an unexpected event. The film, “Surface” is about “exploring the emotional journey from an underground ubran perspective.” The website calls it an “Urban Symphony.” What’s an Urban Symphony you ask?
The concept of Urban Symphony is the visual and audio composition of the city, which is generated by the contact between physical objects, humans or animals with the surface of the ground. In other words, from the underground perspective, the objects that drop, roll or touch the ground create sounds and visuals.
After I watch this for the sixth time, I’m definitely going to read more about the inspiration for this project and how it was made, which you should do as well.
Thanks to Hannah for tweeting about this and the folks over at PSFK for writing about it.
