Super Bowl 2010 Ads, Courtesy of Hulu

There were 2 games going on during Super Bowl Sunday. There was the #superbowl, which saw the New Orleans Saints defeat Peyton Manning and the Colts, and the #brandbowl, where Coca-Cola, Bud Light, Doritos, VW, Google, and Snickers, among many others, battled each other to win the hearts (and wallets) of American consumers.

Thanks to Mullen and Radian 6 for making Brand Bowl 2010 possible, we were able to see which brands were having the most success with consumers in real time. We didn’t have to wait until the next morning when the USA Today Ad Meter came out. We’re an instant gratification culture. We like seeing results as they happen.

According to the results of the Brand Bowl, Doritos had the most successful night out of any brand. Looks like their 12 million was well spent? Google and Focus on the Family round out the Top 3.

If you happened to miss the game or want to watch your favorite ads again, check out the Ad Zone widget below provided by Hulu. Speaking of Hulu, they’ve come  pretty far since they first introduced themselves to the U.S. during last years Super Bowl.  Let’s just hope they don’t ever start charging for content. We like you the way you are, Hulu.

Now go ahead, click around and watch the ads.  Feel free to tell us what you think. What were your favorite ads? How did they compare to ads from previous years?

Hulu Desktop might just become the best thing ever. Hulu gets it.  This new application from Hulu is in its experimental phase, and it basically turns your PC or Mac into full-fledged TV set.  Once you open the program, a show starts playing. If you don’t like what’s on, then pick a new show or movie with the remote that comes with your computer.  Check out the other new Hulu Labs programs. There’s also a personalized video panel designer, time based browsing and personalized recommendations.

I expect to see a lot more shows offered on Hulu, as ABC just put down their stake in the ever-growing company, originally a joint venture between NBC and FOX.  It’ll be interesting to see how Hulu grows and how it will change the landscape of TV watching and media planning and buying.
