EA Games FIFA 2010 gets you as close to playing on a real football(soccer for those reading this in the States) field without actually being there.
Created by Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam, this commercial does a brilliant job at capturing the intensity and realism of the FIFA 2010’s game play. The script is awesome, and the shift between the video game and real in-game play is well done.
The “Gone Google” campaign that started in the U.S. is now going global. If you were in Boston, or other major cities this summer, you may have noticed a Going Google billboard near a high traffic area such as an airport or major highway that changed daily. The billboards told the stories of companies who have Gone Google, by switching to Gmail, Google Docs, or other various Google Apps to make business more efficient.
According to this article in CNET news, over 2 milion businesses and 20 million people have started using Google Apps. Those statistics are HUGE. The proof is in the pudding. More and more people and companies are starting to use Google to make their lives and businesses run more smoothly.
The video below shows examples of how the campaign will be executed.
Google is supporting the global advertising effort through social media as well. On the GoogleAtWork Twitter page, people can tweet about the benefits of using Google with the hashtag #gonegoogle.
In short, this campaign shows how many Google success stories there are. It’s a great way to get people engaged and has the capability to build massive brand loyalty.
Verizon has released this little viral video to create buzz for a new smart phone. The phone is apparently called DROID, and is pegged as, ” A robot sidekick that can move at light speed that could get you out of any problem and lives in your pocket.” The phone is directly positioned against the iPhone, which the video makes quite obvious. It’s supposed to do everything your current iPhone or phone doesn’t do, like take 5 mega pixel photos, run simultaneous apps, lets you type on a real keyboard and even customize. The video is a good way to get people talking about this new gadget, but going against the iPhone isn’t the best idea, which Verizon MUST know. So as just a teaser, I’m fine with this video, but it would definitely not be smart to run these ads leading up all the way to the product launch. It’s also worth noting that Lucasfilm is tied in with this somehow. Just read the copyright info at the bottom at around :22. Below is a screen shot from the product site.
What is all the fuss about Google Wave?! Watch this video, and you’ll find out.
“Google wave is a hosted conversation with only 1 copy that anyone can contribute too.”
Basically, Google Wave is what e-mail would look like now if it was invented today. It has been 40 years since e-mail was invented, and since then a million new communication innovations have been created. With the Wave, Google will hope to integrate all of the new major forms of communication.
The innovative ideas just keep flowing. This agency out of North Carolina, Boone Oakley, made a YouTube video their agency website. It works just like a regular website. There is a home page, news, bios, showcased work, and a list of clients. The contact page has a number and email, and also directs you to send them a You Tube video ( hint: might a smart move to show interest in a job at Boone Oakley that way , but be creative!).
How do you keep a quality relationship with a consumer? Same way you maintain a relationship with any loved one. Communication and listening. Those are the keys to any successful relationship. What did the guy in the video do wrong? Sure, he knew everything about her, what she likes to do, various demographic statistics, etc. But, thats not enough. This video is a humorous and prime example of how getting to know the consumer on more than just a basic level matters. It stresses the importance of consumer insight and its key to maintaining a successful consumer/advertiser relationship.
